The Concept and the Instructor
instructor, a member of the Second Circle of UEW and studying toward
the Third. As part of my Third Circle studies I am designing a
"teacher's guide" and offline curriculum for the UEW tradition, and LC
is my main outlet for testing and perfecting that project. This is not a
perfect system!! It's being written and tested on those souls brave
enough to volunteer. The first run came to an end as of July 2003, and
our latest session is running in the fall of 2006. I had hoped for a fall
2003 session but life seriously interfered with those plans.
The curriculum is not new material. All of the lessons in LC will be
based on the lessons found at the Coven of the Far Flung Net, the
virtual teaching coven for the UEW tradition. Said curriculum has been
tried and tested for years and we know it works.
Laughter Circle 2002-2003 represented my first attempt at teaching
Wicca offline. I mentored new students for approximately three years
online through CFFN. My experience includes one-on-one mentoring as
well as the creation and administration of one of the clans of CFFN. In
addition, I was the secretary of the UEW tradition under the old
leadership structure and am now 1/3 of the leadership Triad of the
tradition as well as mentoring students online. I have been
teacher-in-training by education. While I have no college degree as of
yet, I have studied anthropology, education, biology, and the earth-space
sciences at the college level.
I have been studying and practicing Wicca since 1999. I joined CFFN in
August of 1999, became a Second Circle student January of 2000, and
completed my Second Circle studies in July of 2002. I am considered a
member of the Second Circle and a lay-minister in the UEW tradition.
My work to attain the Third Circle has already taken three years, and I
have fulfilled the required course of study but my project will take at
least another few months.
