The FallsCanadian FallsDon't Hate Me

Snack Time!

AKA an excuse to send my kids to the in-laws for a long weekend!

We just got back from a stay at Niagara Falls, which I had never seen before. Our official excuse was to go up for an Ostara ritual held by Kat and Phoenix, which we did actually attend, and which was quite nice. It’s great to ritual with people who are more-or-less all on the same page and whom you’ve known for a while. But unofficially we had a mini-vacation at the Falls. We stayed at the Brock on the Canadian side, and it was quite lovely. The view from our room was spectacular! I’ll have to see if I can figure out how to post a picture to the blog…

We didn’t really go do much because it was so cold, but we did go see the Butterfly Conservatory, which is most excellent. I totally recommend a visit if you’ll be anywhere near there. It’s a huge indoor space filled with fragrant exotic plants and oodles of butterflies, fluttering silently about. We can’t wait to go back when it’s warm to see the botanical gardens.

October Full Moon

October 8th, 2006

Star and Spiral had our full moon ritual on Friday night.  It was really a good time.  It took us a bit to get the energy flowing but after a few inutes we met with great success.  I must say, I’m looking forward to a time when one of my students will be willing to lead so I can “just” participate though.  I haven’t attended a ritual that I didn’t lead for about six years I think.  It’ll also be good when everyone is a little more comfortable with the process, though everyone who’s been attending has caught on really quickly.  Friday was a first ritual for one member.  The last open full moon was a first ritual for another member.  We even had a guest participant/observer who was there gathering information for her theology class–so I guess that means there were two complete newbies.

Being a priestess is a lot of work, but it’s also a whole lot of fun.  I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested and qualified!
